'A Bohemian Delight'...

Melanie McDonagh, Evening Standard review on Charleston: The Bloomsbury Muse.

Philip Mould & Company are delighted to share Melanie McDonagh’s review of our current exhibition Charleston: The Bloomsbury Muse, for the Evening Standard. Our loan exhibition, Charleston: The Bloomsbury Muse opened it's doors yesterday, and showcases works by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant during and in-between the war and interwar years spent at Charleston.

Melanie visited the gallery ahead of the exhibition opening to view Vanessa and Duncan’s works on display, and here discusses the creative nature of Charleston as manifested by Vanessa and Duncan, the Bloomsbury Group and Charleston House itself. Melanie has noted various highlights from the exhibition in her review, including Pond in Winter, The portrait of renowned and important economist John Maynard Keynes, and Linen Chest, all by Duncan Grant, along with The Granary in Winter by Vanessa Bell.

Read Melanie McDonagh’s full article here and visit our exhibition page for further details.
