Philip de Laszlo's Modern British portrait of Oonagh Guinness in a white silk dress sitting on a chair

The Golden Guinness Girl

A Modern Masterpiece

The subject of this alluring work is The Hon. Mrs Philip Leyland Kindersley (née Oonagh Guinness), later Lady Oranmore and Browne, a famous socialite, art collector and society hostess.

Oonagh was the daughter of Ernest Guinness, whose father Edward Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh - head of the family's brewing business and the richest man in Ireland. Oonagh and her two sisters were famously dubbed the 'golden Guinness girls'.

We are delighted to present this work as the highlight of both our Masterpiece and London Art Week exhibition - From Still Lifes to Socialites.
