More than 100 years after Bell, Grant and the Bloomsbury group lived, created, debated, forged friendships and fell in love at Charleston, its far-reaching influence on art, design, literature, LGBTQ+ culture, fashion, economics and feminism continues to be felt around the world.
Squares, Circles, Triangles
We are happy to announce our online selling exhibition: Squares, Circles, Triangles: The Bloomsbury Group in support of Charleston farmhouse. After everyone’s kind comments on our film series ‘Art in Isolation’ and the noted interest in the Bloomsbury group, we have decided to stage this online exhibition in aid of Charleston. We will be giving 10% of net proceeds as a donation to their emergency fund appeal.
Who were the Bloomsbury Group?
They were a liberal band of artists, writers and intellectuals, allied through their political ideals, love of fierce intellectual debate and stance on sexual equality, whose artistic theories and experiments dramatically refashioned the landscape of British Modernism.
