Dr Valeria Vallucci Senior Researcher

Valeria joined Philip Mould & Company in 2022 as a researcher focusing on Old Masters. She holds a PhD in English Literature and spent most of her academic career writing about Lord Byron’s poetry and travels in Italy and the East Mediterranean. Her research interests also included the cultural and visual relationship between Britain and Asia.

After meeting Philip Mould in 2014 and becoming involved in projects, Valeria became passionate about art provenance and retrained as a provenance researcher.  She was a volunteer for several arts and heritage organisations and worked for two auction houses before finally joining the gallery full-time.

Valeria regularly contributes to the gallery blog and exhibition catalogues. She has worked on Without Hands” The Art of Sarah Biffin (2022) and Fruit of Friendship: Portraits by Mary Beale (2024). Valeria enjoys researching female artists, interracial portraiture, Anglo-Indian artists, and 18th and 19th century British and European art.
