Fake or Fortune? Is Back with Series 14 Every Thursday on BBC One

July 13, 2026

Fake or Fortune? returns to BBC One on Thursday 16th July, 2026.

The new series opens with the remarkable story of a possible Fabergé flower that somehow made its way from Tsarist Russia to a shoebox in Liverpool. The investigation is followed by a portrait of an Indian woman that may have been painted by the eighteenth-century Scottish artist Katherine Read. If the attribution proves correct, it raises an intriguing question: how did a Scottish female artist like Read come to paint an Indian sitter, and where was the portrait created? Later episodes examine works potentially by André Derain and Lucian Freud, alongside two extra episodes revisiting recent investigations from previous seasons.
