Fake or Fortune? returns this summer Tune in on Monday 21st July 2025 on BBC One to watch the first episode of Season 13

July 4, 2025

The art detectives are back on Monday 21st July at 9pm with a new series of Fake or Fortune?, investigating lost masterpieces and uncovering devious forgeries. With fortunes at stake, Philip and Fiona travel the globe in search of clues, using the latest technology to solve some of the art world’s most intriguing mysteries.

Across six episodes, they take on some of their most challenging cases to date. They’ll be revealing whether two newly discovered paintings in the UK could be genuine works by Renoir; if a picture of a summer garden might be a valuable lost work by Sir Winston Churchill; whether a £35 auction bargain could have been painted by New Zealand maverick Frances Hodgkins; and how a beautiful portrait of an English lady ended up languishing in a cupboard in America — but who painted her?

The team also revisits some of their recent investigations from previous seasons.
