3 February - 8 May
As part of their new exhibition programme, the recently reopened Courtauld Gallery has begun 2022 with an impressive exhibition displaying sixteen self-portraits by Van Gogh.
The exhibition takes as its springboard Van Gogh's iconic Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear, one of the most celebrated works in the Courtauld's collection. The display traces the evolution of Van Gogh's self-representation from his period in Paris to Self Portrait with a Palette, painted at the asylum in Saint Remy de Provence in 1889.
Following the reopening of The Courtauld Gallery in November 2021, their celebrated collection can now be experienced across the restored galleries. The Courtauld is home to several masterpieces including works by Lucas Cranach the Elder, Edouard Manet and J.M.W Turner, as well as important works by Roger Fry, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant which can be found in their new Bloomsbury room display.
Where: The Courtauld Gallery London.
When: Until 8th May.
