The Paul Mellon Centre Photographic Archive The Paul Mellon Centre have recently launched their digital photographic archive.

With a collection of 100,000 reference photographs of a number of British paintings, old master works, decorative works, prints, drawings and sculpture, the new photographic archive at The Paul Mellon Centre is a new important digital portal for art historical research. The phographic archive covers a vast history of British painting  and artwork from 1500-1900, with some files into the twentieth century. 

Philip wrote an essay called the 'Online Art History Revolution', which  covers the vitality of digitisation for art historical research in light of this fantastic photographic archive.
