BADA Fair 2015

Mon Jan 26, 2015

Philip Mould & Company are pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting a selection of fine Portrait Miniatures at the BADA Antiques & Fine Art Fair, which runs between 18-24 March 2015 at Duke of York Square, London.

The BADA Fair is an exciting new addition to our ever-growing calendar of annual events for our Portrait Miniatures department, which we have been rapidly developing over the last two years and now includes three fairs and one specialist exhibition.

One of our favourite items of stock which we will be showcasing at the BADA Fair this year is the above portrait of the notorious rake Robert Feilding (1650/51-1712) by Jacques Antoine Arlaud (1668-1746). Feilding’s life featured more twists, turns and improprieties than a Restoration comedy, and this portrait was probably painted in Paris between 1692-6, where the newly catholic Feilding had joined the court of the recently exiled king James II following the Glorious Revolution of 1688. Details of this work will be available to view on our website on the opening day of the fair.

We will also be displaying a number of other recent acquisitions, including works by John Smart, Richard Cosway and George Engleheart to name but a few, and an e-catalogue of further highlights will be released one week in advance.
